APPLYING TO STANFORD LAKE COLLEGE

The admissions process is fairly simple and we’ve listed the following steps to assist you.

Grade 8 applicants

Admission to Grade 8 is governed by the results of the Entrance Examination that every applicant needs to take sometime between February and June of the year preceding the Grade 8 year.  Admission to Grade 8 is not governed by your ‘position’ on the waiting list.

Step 1: Attend the Stanford Lake College open weekend in March.

Step 2: Fill in the Application Form below and pay the R 200 administration fee.

Step 3: Take the Entrance Examination and come for a campus visit and an interview with our Headmaster.

Step 4: Stanford Lake College contacts you.

Stanford Lake College will contact you following the Entrance Examination to let you know if we will have the pleasure of welcoming you to Grade 8.

Step 5: Fill in the “Contract of Enrolment’ form.

Parents should return the Contract of Enrolment Form (supplied by Stanford Lake College), supporting documents and fees should they choose to accept Stanford Lake College’s offer.

APPLICANTS FOR GR. 9 – 12

Please note that admission to Stanford Lake College beyond Grade 8, and for late applicants to Grade 8, is subject to availability of space and the competence and suitability of the student.

Step 1: Submit the Application Form below with a copy of your latest school report and the R 200 administration fee. This will serve to confirm your interest in Stanford Lake College, and allow us to start considering your application. Submitting an Application Form and fee does not guarantee enrolment. After you submit the form and fee, we will take a close look at the application, consider the past school report, and determine if there is an appropriate space in the school.

Please note that applications for Grade 12 will only be considered if the student has been enrolled at a school following the Independent Examinations Board [IEB] curriculum and is unable to complete their final year there due to circumstances beyond their control.

Step 2: Stanford Lake College contacts you.

Should we determine that an appropriate space is available we may arrange an interview with our Headmaster and/or ask for further information.  You may also be requested to take the Entrance Examination.

Step 3: Stanford Lake College contacts you.

Should we find that the student is suited to the available space, we will offer the place to him/her.  If we are not able to offer a place immediately, we will inform the applicant and keep the application on record, if requested to do so, until a suitable opening becomes available in the future.

Step 4: Fill in the “Contract of Enrolment” form

Stanford Lake College will contact you following your interview to let you know if we will be able to welcome you to Stanford. Parents should return the Contract of Enrolment form (supplied by Stanford Lake College), supporting documents and fees should they choose to accept Stanford Lake College’s offer.
