School Productions
I Know What You Did Last Saturday
This year’s school production, performed at the end of term 3, was a great success. The play was based on the film ‘The Breakfast Club’ but had been adapted by the students. They wrote an extra script to go with the original and prepared their own dances and songs which mirrored the action on the stage. The final result was a wonderful collage of differing artistic skills and involved over 50 students. The play demonstrated Stanford students’ ability on the stage and allowed them a unique term in which they could experiment with and learn new creative skills. Their commitment and resilience during a hard term of rehearsals must be commended. The two performances, just before our September holiday, ended the term with a bang and all the actors and musicians involved received great credit for their effort and skill.
2011 Activities

Roots of Rock
Stanford Lake College was rocking, the Barnyard was rolling-in fact, the whole mountain was "all shook up"! Xerox and the students of Stanford Lake College really did themselves proud with their production of Roots of Rock. A lively cast ensured an entertaining evening of rockin and rollin!
The creative team consisted of Elizabeth Hollestein, Mari Weber, MiniMax, Respiro Studios, Megan Gardiner, Harddrive Productions, DRG Services, Soundmaster and SLC staff. This tremendous amount of combined creative energy resulted in an excellent home grown production, with singing; dancing and acting-to make even the sternest critic applaud.
No less than 150 students participated in this tribute to Rock’s greatest moments with 23 hit songs being presented-ranging from the 50’s right up to the 80’s. In a celebration of Rock’s finest moments, special appearances were made by Chuck Berry, Elvis impersonators, the real Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Beatles, Joan Jett, Bruce Springsteen and Freddy Mercury.
The lovely professor W.O.Ow afterwards commented that this was definitely the most memorable visit on her recent world wide tour. In a charming gesture, she has undertaken to assist Mr. Wannabe Rocker on finding a recording studio. |
